Grand Rapids State Bank Announces Zabinski Resignation and Internal Promotions

Ed Zabinski will resign his position as Senior Vice President effective December 31, 2016. Ed began providing consulting services to the bank in July 2007; he was hired as a full-time employee on January 1, 2008. Beginning in October, Ed will transition to a 75%-time schedule, allowing him time to ramp up his consulting engagements. Ed will continue to serve as a director of Grand Rapids State Bank, a position he’s held since 1996.

Ed’s reporting responsibilities included both Grand Rapids State Bank and Minnesota Lakes Bank (headquartered in Delano, MN). Consequently, the following people will be promoted with new titles to reflect their new duties and responsibilities during and after this transition:

  • Julie Birkey, Vice President-Marketing
  • Jill Mattson, Human Resources Manager
  • Andy Dehon, Information Technology Director
  • Sam Worlie, Network Administrator

“I want to thank Ed for his many contributions to our organization during his tenure with GRSB and wish him all the best as he moves into this new chapter in his personal and professional life,” stated Noah Wilcox, president and CEO of Grand Rapids State Bank.

“I also want to congratulate Julie, Jill, Andy and Sam on their well-deserved promotions. Since the acquisition of Minnesota Lakes Bank in 2014, we’ve centralized some functions for both banks: marketing, human resources and information technology. These key people have invested a good deal of hard work as those responsibilities have grown with both bank charters,” Wilcox continued.
