For nearly 25 years, Home and Comfort has been a trusted place where residents receive compassionate, dignified, and personalized care. Founded in 2001, this family-run business has touched the lives of countless individuals in the community.
Home and Comfort is an assisted living home that provides care for adults with physical and mental disabilities who can no longer live independently. The mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure every resident feels safe, valued, and loved through every stage of life, including end-of-life care.
Rebecca Burt, Co-Owner of Home and Comfort, is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of all residents. She fosters an environment where compassion and respect guide every interaction.
The home was founded by Rebecca’s mother, Bethel, in 2001. Before stepping into a leadership role, Rebecca worked as a housekeeper at a local motel while attending college. She also served as a Personal Care Assistant at Home and Comfort, where she discovered her passion for helping others. Over time, she became the office manager, held various community roles, completed her bachelor’s degree majoring in psychology, and eventually assumed the role of facility director. Today, Rebecca is proud to be a licensed assisted living director and co-owner.
No two days are the same for Rebecca. She manages emails, meetings, and documentation, coordinates groceries and menus, supports residents, and helps with cooking. She helps maintain team dynamics, oversees finances, and ensures everything meets state regulations. Her role is dynamic, hands-on, and essential.
When asked what she’s most proud of, Rebecca didn’t hesitate:
“Our team. They are the soul of our facility. Each member brings not only skill and dedication, but genuine compassion to their work. They go above and beyond to ensure our residents feel safe, valued, and loved. Whether it’s a warm meal, a listening ear, or a moment of laughter, I’m proud to work alongside individuals who treat every resident like family and uphold the values this facility was built on.”
Home and Comfort chose Grand Rapids State Bank because of their relationship with their business banker. Rebecca shared, “Stephanie’s unwavering support, financial expertise, and genuine care have been instrumental in our growth. She treats us like partners, not just clients, and believes in our mission. That trust and personal connection mean everything.”
