As an attorney, James Perunovich has worked with a wide variety of people who seek his help with legal matters. When it comes to banking services, he trusts his instincts to work with someone he knows will be there when he needs financial help.

“I really like the idea of doing business locally,” he continued.  “I have two offices, one in Hibbing and one in Grand Rapids, so I have banking relationships in both communities.  Grand Rapids State Bank really promotes the notion of helping local businesses and supporting local causes, and that’s important to me.”

Jim’s legal specialties are criminal defense, family law and trial work.  He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Hamline University and the Mitchell Hamline Law School after seven years of study, and he’s been in private practice in 1986.  Jim’s practice is a one-person operation, which gives him flexibility to do what he needs to do when he needs to do it.

“Grand Rapids State Bank doesn’t throw four pages of surcharges at you like some of the larger banks do,” said Jim.  “Beyond that, they support local community events and that’s the kind of bank I want to do business with.”
